Privacy notice: the waitlist
Updated October 2026
Who is responsible for the data
The Madaf waitlist is run by Noam Raz. For questions and requests about your data: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your email address and interface language.
- Your town or city, and your neighbourhood if you chose to add it.
- Up to three books you would swap and up to three you are looking for, and whether you are also open to lending or giving books away.
- The consents you gave and when you signed up.
- How you reached the page (for example, a link someone shared), if the address shows it.
Cloudflare also processes your IP address to serve the site and to protect the form from bots.
Why we use it
- To manage the waitlist and send you a confirmation email.
- To see where matches already exist and choose the first city, using aggregated data.
- To invite you to the beta when it opens near you.
- Updates about Madaf go only to people who ticked the separate consent box.
Do you have to give us this data
There is no legal obligation. Without an email address and a town you cannot join the list.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that run the service for us: Supabase (database, in Frankfurt, EU), Cloudflare (site hosting and bot protection) and our email delivery provider. We never sell the data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Up to 12 months after you sign up, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If we send you a confirmation email and the signup is not confirmed, it is deleted after 30 days. We may keep aggregated statistics that identify no one.
Your rights
Under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and you can withdraw your consent to updates at any time. Email [email protected].
Security
The data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our provider. Access is restricted, and it cannot be read from the browser.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will update the date here and email you about any significant change.
